PROJECT STATUS

STERA’s 2006 rehabilitation project, funded through the NYS DOT Bond Act and the federal SAFETEA LU program, which involved welded rail replacement, tie replacement, ballast, and surfacing work, was completed in November 2007.

STERA has received word of impending funding by NYS DOT of two additional projects, funded through NYS DOT Multimodal Program funds, and these should go to design and bid as soon as the paper work permits. These will primarily be tie and ballast project, surfacing, and perhaps some crop and weld.
